The function of wastewater treatment is to speed up natural processes by which water is purified. Two stages of treatment are primary and secondary. In the primary stage, solids are allowed to settle and removed from wastewater. The secondary stage uses biological processes to further purify wastewater. Sometimes, these stages are combined into one operation. Treatment plants were built primarily to clean wastewater for discharge into streams or other receiving waters, or for reuse.
At Martin Energy Group, our units created specifically for waste water treatment facilities, can benefit in many ways. Our units power at a cost below your local utility, they displace purchased fuels for thermal needs, qualify as a renewable fuel source, help to enhance power reliability of the plant, and they reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) and various air pollutants. The benefits of CHP at waste water treatments are in addition to those provided by our anearobic digesters.
