Ordered: 2015
Industry: Greenhouse
Location: Ontario, Canada

Situation:
Client was experiencing escalating electric power rates. They were also having difficulty with unstable and unreliable power from their local utility. The client already had non-automated diesel standby generation.

Solution:
Proposed three 1MW Siemens stand-alone CHP units in island mode. Martin would coordinate all of the controls for new and existing standby systems with full automation and remote monitoring. Proposal included heat recovery for lowering existing thermal load for greenhouses.

Result:
Installed on time and on budget. Client now has more reliable power at a much more affordable rate. They experience electric rates that are almost three times lower than previous. All systems are fully automated and monitored remotely by our technicians. Thermal recovery of 50% engine efficiency reduced existing heat system load. Financial project payback for client was less than 2 years.
